You know the silly fun for silly fun’s sake was my favorite part of this! And like you, I also noticed myself not feeling ready for summer to end which has never been the norm. Normally I’m so totally on board to hunker down through the winter; always felt like I survived the cold months “better” than others. I think part of that was actually just.. I was depressed?? So I was vibing with the depressing months?? 🥲 Essentially here to say - I want to be intentional about wintering this year, too!
I literally had this same realization about myself and winter this week 😂 Depressed / I'm naturally a slower, low energy person so winter is just my cup of tea! Now I'm not really depressed but still slow and low energy and we're embracing it over here ✨
I love that you are experiencing things full-body, it is a work in progress for me too! Trying to stay present and just appreciate my life. Or rather, just live it.
Gosh I love this. I love that you are feeling more into your body. That's my vision for myself next year. This year has been about accepting and sitting my emotions and thoughts, and I've been calling next year "my year of embodiment." I'm excited but also rather nervous about it. My body and I have been strangers for a long time. I hope we like each other.
Ooo, love the year of embodiment. I wouldn't say I'm an embodiment master by any stretch, but I have made a lot of progress and I'm proud of myself for that! I'm continually working on it. I'm excited to read about your journey, if you share! <3
Oh I will. Substack is just my cup of tea. It feels like it's just for me--like I'm in my own cozy cottage in the woods, but with a window where people can peek in and see what I'm up to. I love it.
Funny thing that you mention that book because although I read it a couple years ago, it has been on my mind all week! It’s a good one. I’m loving the mood boards. Keep sharing them, please.
Obsessed with the term "wintering" — might have to use it myself from now on!! Always love the vision boards you put together; the soft serve one made my inner child smile :) Also, the comment about all the faces pointing in the same direction is so observant!! I love the way you interpreted it — finding patterns and synchronicities in life is so satisfying and mind-opening. Cheers to winter and cheers to all the versions of you we've been lucky to witness through this newsletter 😌
I can't take credit for "wintering" — 100% borrowed it from Katherine May, whose work I think you'd really enjoy. :) Thank you, thank you for all the cheers and love! It is funny to see myself evolve in real time as I write this newsletter. I suppose that's one of the many benefits of a writing practice!!
Um, my newsletter has been compared to receiving a chocolate chip cookie delivery?! Best compliment ever. Thank you. :) I AM doing well and it feels wonderful. I'm so glad to know I'm not alone in my winter love! And I'm also so glad that you got yourself some fun, snazzy earrings. We all need silly joy in our days. Thanks for bringing joy to mine, always!

Yes, yes, yes! Tbh, radically changing my relationship with social media / my phone has made an ENORMOUS difference for me 🙌

I’m so glad, and I’m obsessed with that description. To creating our own cozy cottages ✨✨✨
white snow, longer night
electric blanket, crisp air
winter wondering

Ahh! Love the haiku 🥹💕❄️

It's a good one to have in mind this time of year! And thank you — I will absolutely keep making and sharing the mood boards. :)
